The law firm Urmann + Collegen (U+C) from Regensburg is currently issuing a warning letter on behalf of MFA + Filmdistribution e.K. regarding the film "Ronal the Barbarian".
In the context of these warnings, the law firm U & C demands on the one hand the submission of a cease-and-desist declaration subject to penalty, but also the payment of damages and compensation for the legal fees incurred as a result of the warning
The majority of file-sharing warnings have the following content: The law firm issuing the warning offers an out-of-court settlement in such a way that the warned party submits a cease-and-desist declaration with a penalty clause and pays a settlement amount. In order to increase the pressure on the warned party, particularly short deadlines are set.
However, most cease-and-desist declarations inadmissibly refer to the entire repertoire of the client and the amount of the settlement offer is usually set far too high.
Under no circumstances should such a cease-and-desist declaration be signed without verification and the settlement amount paid immediately.
